The Bağzıbağlı story in the fabric industry began in 1957 when our founder Raşit Bağzıbağlı, father of Derviş Bağzıbağlı, started selling handmade men's fabric in a 40-square-meter space in the historic Arasta bazaar in Nicosia, Cyprus.

With Derviş Bağzıbağlı taking an active role in the family business, in 1976 the company moved to a 200-square-meter store in the Nicosia region of Cyprus and made its name in the industry.

The Bağzıbağlı company began importing women's fabrics in 1988. With stores in the Kyrenia bazaar (1989) and Gönyeli (1992), the imported and exclusive fabrics offered across three active locations became indispensable for luxury brands.

In 1994, it opened its first branch in Turkey on Bağdat Avenue in a 500-square-meter, four-story store, introducing the concept of boutique luxury fabric retail to Turkey.

In 2000, the Bağzıbağlı family transformed bespoke tailoring into a fashion house in Turkey for the first time, quickly winning the appreciation of Istanbul's couture culture.

In 2005, the Bağzıbağlı family opened a store on Levent Avenue, pioneering a new era and launching luxury retail in the area, where it continues to operate today.

Catching a significant growth trend since 2008, the Raşit Bağzıbağlı brand has accelerated store openings, with stores in Ankara and, as of 2017, in the Emaar and Panora shopping centers.

As of 2019, Bağzıbağlı opened two stores in Kyrenia, Cyprus — its origin point — and continues to serve high fashion culture with ready-to-wear, bespoke tailoring, fabric service, and bridal/groom outfit tailoring.
